The best concert ever: Linkin Park

Hello everyone!

It is a pleasure to share with you one of my most significant experiences so far. In this second topic of the blog, I want to tell you about my experience in the Linkin Park’s concert in 2017 at Movistar Arena and why this moment has been so precious to me.

First of all, it is relevant to mention that Linkin Park is a band that made its first steps with alternative rock and then, little by little, they developed their style through Indie as well as electronic music, having the last one as a marked genre in their last albums, specially "One more Light". By that time, I did not know that not only this album would be their last but also they would perform their last concert here in Chile that same year (2017). This led to a series of events in which the vocalist, Chester Bennington, decided to put an end to his life, just after 4 months of this concert. So, sadly, when I heard the news, I was shocked.

At first, I must admit that I had my doubts about going to this concert, because there was a huge change in their style of music in their latest discographic works. So, it did not sparked any special attraction to me. The reason why I thought that is because I grew up listening to Linkin Park’s first albums, from Hybrid Theory in 2000, passing through Meteora in 2003 (definitively the best one) to Minutes to Midnight in 2007. All these with a pronounced alternative rock that accompanied me for a long time until today, so I did not know at that moment what kind of Linkin Park I would find myself with. Luckily for me, nothing could be further from reality.

The concert was just amazing, starting with the opening of another band called Rise Against, a not less prestigious band and definitely not left behind vocalist. Then, meeting with a Linkin Park totally impressive and alive. They took a journey through all their songs and even performed their new songs in a way that I got absolutely impressed with the hole atmosphere, quality and the energy they transmitted to the audience for about two and a half hours. They certainly do not leave anything by chance and gave everything from themselves in a complete show.

A few months later after the concert, news of Chester’s departure exploded and left me with mixed feelings, thinking of how he was transmitting ideas about what he was going to do, the importance of perceiving these signals in time and how, without knowing it, I was part of the last concert of the band. Definitively, a night I will never forget and that touched me in an incredible last reunion at the perfect time.

So that’s all for now! Let me know your thoughts about it and tell me if you have a similar experience or maybe a concert that you want to live! Let me know!

PD: Thinking about the last idea, I can’t stand without a concert of ACDC or Queen! But both are almost a fantasy and that will be a nice topic for another day.

Thank you for your time and see you next time!
