A Country you would like to visit: Japan

 ¡Hello everyone! Welcome to my first topic of the English Level 4 class! 😀

Today I would like to talk about a country that I would definitely like to visit! 

When I firstly thought about it, I had no hesitation in choosing the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan! 


My interest in Japan came through since I was a child, having all these references and ideas about what their culture looks like as well as my parents showing me their own relation to it. Personally, I think all those things meet together in the reflection of their landscapes, their high presence of nature as a national statement.

Along the years and as an architecture student, I have created a bond to the conceptions of space that the Japanese architecture has. Their precepts about home, the simplicity and the respect of nature as sacred spaces, exemplifies a huge effort to maintain the respect for life and all its elements. 

When you think about visiting Japan, the main postcards that Japan offers you are full of highlights about the dynamics of its cities and its outstanding technological development, but above all that, emerges an atmosphere that keep its roots strong, an experience that is perceived in the small villages located far from urban areas, where people keeps a peaceful and humble rhythm of life. Along with that, their landscapes with the Mount Fuji in the background, the momiji that represents a explosion of colours in the trees in autumn and the Route of Kumano Kodo with the most importants temples in the heart of Japan and among other natural wonders to illustrate, steal my full attention and interest to visit them as an absolute priority.


Finally, and considering all the previous atractions, I would love to visit Japan as a tourist and maybe in the future consider an opportunity to work as an architect to get to know a little bit of the soul of a culture that draws my attention the more I get to know it.

    wow, after reading this blog, I would be interested in knowing Japan, its architecture and its relationship with nature. O.o

    It does seem that the Japanese culture has such a place for aesthetics. Their food besides being delicious is also beautiful to look at.

Blog post 5 - My Future Job

 Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. In this fifth post I would like to talk about my future job as an architect. When I picture myself in my future job, I imagine being in a nice working environment, meeting kind co-workers as well as being personally true to myself and what I love. As an architect, I would like to be part of sustainable and environmentally well-managed projects in which I could be able to design and plan buildings that could both contribute and transform the existing damage to our natural resources. Along with that, materials that are massively useful in order to find confortable and well-qualified living spaces. Blog post 7: Changes to my study programme - Architecture

  Hello everyone! In this blog, I will be talking about what changes could be made to my study programme. Firstly, it's relevant to mention that I'm currently studying architecture, which similarly to design or geography, implies a constant mixture between theory and practice. The last ones being in many cases not totally productive since, most of the times, the hours taken to classes and study time are much more than the hours proposed in the first place. This issue has been more evident with the current online system. Requiring to be sited in our laptops the entire day and, as a consequence, limiting the performance that one could have in each subject and the necessary commitment to the contents.  In addition, an important aspect I think the University owes to the students, is the stance in regards to the technological changes in the use of computer programs.
