The PassivHaus

Hello everyone! A pleasure to share with you some ideas again!

In today's post I would like to write about a concept that it's related to architecture and represents a whole new perspective for me: The PassivHaus.

First of all, the PassivHaus is a concept explored in the 80's, specifically in Germany, where the Ministry of environment promoted an investigation to find strategies to optimize the home's performances in terms of energy efficiency. In its evaluating role, the PassivHaus involves different parameters in order to achieve between 70% and 80% of less energy intakes, reducing the use of active heating systems such as wood heaters , many of which depend on energy with high percentages of carbon emissions.

In addition to that, the PassiveHaus allows the creation of strategies in the houses' architectural design in order to achieve an adequate thermal comfort for a good quality of life.

The benefits of encouraging this approach when starting a project, can be very important for our present and the future in terms of sustainability, in times where the planet begs for a better management of its resources.

In Chile, we have a big problem with the firewood pollution in the south and a lot of constructions that don't have the regulations and efficient certifications, so that opens a opportunity for the PassivHaus to the understanding of how to use natural variables around us for the benefit of all of us.

To conclude, I motivate you to know about this concept and to consider how with small decisions we can generate big changes in order to fight against climate change.
